Global recognition in The Lawyer’s Litigation 50 Report
04 Sep 2019

Our Global Litigation & Disputes practice is again ranked highly in The Lawyer’s Global Litigation 50 Report 2019, a survey of the world’s most prominent litigation, disputes and arbitration practices.

Having been ranked for the first time last year, Eversheds Sutherland has risen to 7th largest firm by headcount, and to 36th by revenue from disputes work.

The Report ranks law firms based on partner and lawyer headcount, and by department and firmwide financials. It also considers the presence of firms in the major disputes and arbitration centres of the world. The editorial theme for this year’s report focused on cyber security and data-led disputes, with Eversheds Sutherland mentioned as market leaders in both areas.

Paul Worth, Co-Head of Global Litigation, commented:

“I am so pleased to see our litigation practice once again recognised in this prominent ranking of law firm’s disputes capability. Moving up the table in both the headcount and revenue criteria builds on the success of 2018, and is reflective of a number of strategic hires in the last year, a strong round of partner promotions in May and robust revenue growth across a number of our offices, including in London, the Middle East and Singapore.”

“This year’s report had a strong focus on cyber and data-related disputes, and I am pleased that they have recognised our team’s follow-the-sun approach with over 110 lawyers across our global network to support clients in the event of a cyber emergency, wherever and whenever they need us.”

Highlights from the our rankings include:

  • 7th largest litigation group by number of lawyers (8th in 2018)
  • 36th by total litigation and disputes revenue (43rd in 2018)
  • Our total number of disputes lawyers has grown at the fourth quickest rate
  • 5th largest litigation team in London
  • 6th largest litigation team in Germany
